The Lesson About My Website Photos

After I got my passport photo (and didn’t die of shame), I got the courage to have new business photos taken.

When I was deciding what to wear. I immediately thought of my ribbon boa…I know, right? Business photos and a ribbon boa. But it’s just so beautiful I knew I had to use it.

Well…the photos turned out great but there’s more to the story.

When we put the new photos on the website and I saw the first one I just about fell over laughing. I looked like a madam (yes, as in house of ill-repute) who does business coaching, style, wealth and healing. And I loved it!!!

It felt like me. Playful and alive. Joyful and wise. Me at 76. Awesome.

So, the first picture you see on the homepage is this one:

Anne Sagendorph-Moon great website photo

Not this one!!!

Anne Sagendorph-Moon not a good website photo too serious

I’ve always hated those pictures that make us look fake “powerful”.

What is powerful anyway? It is you looking like YOU. It is you having a message that is YOU not somebody’s good idea of you.

I am so far out of the business box of how I should look and what I should say. And yet, my business is just fine, and I am free.

You might be tired of the business box deciding who you should be too.
