This is the reason I created this work. The real one.
Most of us don’t look in the mirror neutrally. We look, and a quiet voice starts up — and it is rarely a kind one. We do it so automatically we barely notice it’s running. A lifetime of small, unkind verdicts, delivered by our own reflection, first thing in the morning.
I didn’t want people to have to keep meeting themselves that way. That’s the whole origin of this.
Because when your colors are right and your style actually reflects who you are now, that moment changes. You stop scanning for what’s wrong and start recognising who’s there. The mirror stops being a daily verdict and becomes there you are.
That isn’t vanity. It’s the quiet end of a particular kind of suffering — and it’s coming home to yourself.
