I Don’t Throw People Away

Why I Don’t Throw People Away

Today I want to tell you a story.

I have a client who has done private sessions with me. She’s in the business group coaching that I lead, and she also has kids, is just starting a business, and she got divorced. So it wasn’t like she’s never paid me before, but she has been going through a hard time and needed to sell her house and she has five children. It’s a lot when you’re just starting a new business.

I said, well, you can have three months. I won’t charge you. That was it and it felt good to me. At the same time I felt guilty. I sure wouldn’t look good to the Instagram people constantly selling and telling us how successful they are. When we got to the end of the three months she said, I don’t think I can pay for the month after that.

And I said:

I don't throw people away by Anne Sagendorph-Moon

I think that during this time, where the Internet, Instagram, Facebook, and sales on the Internet are constantly about six figure incomes and how much you can charge. It’s crazy making. I would like to have a moment where we say, we don’t throw people away. Not: if we don’t charge more and more there is something wrong with us.

“I think we’ve lost some humanity in how we talk about money.”

Of course we want people to make lots of money. Of course we want all of us to be successful and have a great flow in our lives doing what we love to do. But I also want to remind us, all of us who do business coaching, healing work or whatever, that sometimes it’s just about being kind and not throwing people away.

XOXO

Anne
